Osteopathic Recognition
RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Our Family Medicine Residency Program is proud to have earned Osteopathic Recognition from the ACGME. This designation reflects our strong commitment to integrating osteopathic principles and practices (OPP) into every facet of resident education and patient care.
With this recognition, we offer:
- A curriculum enriched with hands-on osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) training
- Faculty mentorship and dedicated osteopathic leadership
- Clinical and scholarly opportunities grounded in osteopathic philosophy
While the program is designed to support osteopathic (DO) residents, we also welcome allopathic (MD) residents who are interested in expanding their training in OPP. MD residents may be eligible to participate by demonstrating foundational knowledge or commitment to osteopathic principles. This can include:
- Completion of basic OPP coursework or clinical rotations
- Participation in osteopathic workshops or electives
- A letter of intent and/or passing an entry-level assessment, as determined by the program
Additional educational support and mentorship are available to help MD residents integrate into the osteopathic track.
Osteopathic Recognition supports our mission to deliver holistic, patient-centered care and ensures our residents—regardless of training background—can develop the knowledge, skills, and mindset essential to osteopathic family medicine.
We are excited to uphold the osteopathic tradition and provide this enhanced educational experience to future physician leaders.
