Application Requirements & Selection Process

Choosing the right residency program is an important step in your medical career. At Evara Health, we seek compassionate, motivated physicians who are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care while serving diverse communities. Our selection process is designed to identify applicants who demonstrate academic excellence, professionalism, and a passion for Family Medicine. Review the eligibility requirements and application process below to determine your qualifications and prepare your application for our ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for Evara Health's Family Medicine Residency Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited U.S. or Canadian medical school (MD or DO) or an international medical school recognized by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
  • Graduated within the past two years, or currently enrolled in or recently completed an international Family Medicine or General Practice residency, or currently enrolled in an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency program
  • Eligible for resident licensure through the Florida Board of Medicine or Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Passed COMLEX Levels 1 and 2 or USMLE Steps 1 and 2 (Applicants with one failure on Step 1/Level 1 or Step 2/Level 2 will still be considered.)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Be able to perform the essential duties of the residency program, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States (Please note: Evara Health does not sponsor visas.)

International Medical Graduates

Applicants who graduated from a medical school outside the United States or Canada must hold a current, valid ECFMG certification before appointment to the program.

Additional Consideration

Applicants who have completed USMLE Step 2 CS, USMLE Step 3, or COMLEX Level 3 should have passing scores without prior failures.

Application Materials

Please submit the following documents through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS):

  • Completed ERAS application
  • Personal statement
  • Medical school transcript
  • Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE/Dean's Letter)
  • USMLE or COMLEX transcript
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • ECFMG status report (required for international medical graduates)

Please note: Evara Health accepts applications exclusively through ERAS. Supporting documents sent outside the ERAS application process cannot be accepted.

Interview Process

Our interview process is designed to help you get to know our program, our faculty, and our residents while giving us the opportunity to learn more about you.

  • Complete Application Required: Interview invitations are extended after all required application materials have been received through ERAS.
  • In-Person Interviews: Interviews are conducted in person to give applicants the opportunity to experience our program, facilities, and community firsthand.
  • Interview Day Hospitality: Applicants who accept an interview invitation will receive one night's lodging the evening before their interview, along with lunch with our current residents on interview day.

Match + Appointment

Evara Health participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and follows all applicable Match policies and requirements. Residency positions are offered through the Match process.

Applicants who successfully match with our program must submit all required onboarding documents to the Office of Graduate Medical Education before the start of residency. Delays in completing required documentation may result in a delayed start date or withdrawal of the appointment.
